My Two Dads are Amazing! (2016)
My second book and very different from my first. With this children's book I wanted to bring a dose of humour to challenging perceptions about non-traditional families. Ben is 9 years old and lives with his two dads. There are good things and not-so-good things about living with his dads, but they are pretty amazing! Note: this is a second edition of this book, previously titled "My Dads are SO embarrassing!". Feedback on that title suggested that people assumed there was something embarrassing about having two dads, which couldn't be further from the positive message of the book. Watch a sampler HERE. |
Becoming Dads (2011)
This book collects my diary entries as my husband and I went through the adoption process. It starts with our decision to adopt and chronicles everything we went through until the day we met our son. Although adoption has become easier for gay couples in recent years and some of the process has changed, many prospective adopters (gay and straight) have found it very useful to read about the ups and downs, the doubts, the joys and the frustrations of what it's like to become a gay dad. |
